The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel | Seattle, WA

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel with at least seven years of relevant experience to join a top international law firm in its Seattle, WA office. In this position, you will:



Draft and negotiate a variety of advertising-related agreements, including influencer, celebrity endorsement, sponsorship, ad agency, and media buying contracts.



Review advertising materials to assess risks related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity.



Provide counsel on compliance for contests, sweepstakes, subscription programs, and loyalty/rewards programs.



Advise clients on consumer protection and marketing transactions across diverse industries.



Navigate complex regulatory frameworks, ensuring client campaigns comply with state, federal, and international laws.



Defend clients against accusations of false advertising, unfair competition, and other regulatory challenges.



Stay ahead of emerging trends and legal developments in advertising and consumer protection law.



Ideal Candidate Profile



Experience and Expertise



Years of Practice: Minimum of 7 years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection, and marketing transactions.



Substantive Knowledge: Expertise in drafting and negotiating agreements and counseling on compliance issues.



Preferred Background: Experience with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes is a plus.



Educational Credentials



Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.



Bar Membership: Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.



Core Competencies



Strong attention to detail and ability to excel in collaborative environments.



Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills.



Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects effectively.



Proactive problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
