Food Technician - Secondary School (Newham)

Are you passionate about food and inspiring young minds? Do you have the skills to support students and teachers in a vibrant Food Technology department? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Newham looking for a Food Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and contributing to students' learning and development.

The Role:

As a Food Technician, you will:

Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons.
Support teachers during lessons, ensuring students have the materials and guidance needed to succeed.
Assist students with practical tasks, promoting safe and hygienic practices.
Maintain and clean equipment, ensuring the kitchen areas meet health and safety standards.
Help manage stock levels, including ordering and organising supplies.
Provide administrative support to the Food Technology department when required.

About You:

We're looking for someone who:

Has a passion for food and enjoys working in an educational setting.
Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Has knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a qualification in food hygiene is an advantage but not essential).
Can engage positively with young people and support their learning.
Has previous experience in a similar role or a practical food environment (desirable but not essential).
