We are on the lookout for a passionate and proactive Trades and Construction Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a SEND school. In this role, you will support students with additional needs during various trade and construction lessons. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in the trade and construction fields, ensuring that all activities run smoothly and safely. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining health and safety standards while providing exceptional support to both students and teachers.

The school welcomes individuals with limited experience in working with children with special educational needs, as training will be offered. However, it is essential to bring a positive, nurturing, and patient attitude. The position is full time and to start asap and for the foreseeable.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist the teacher and students with daily tasks and project needs, ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available.

* Keep the work area clean and organised, following health and safety protocols.

* Aid in the loading and unloading of materials, using proper handling techniques.

* Support the setup and dismantling of equipment for different projects as required.

* Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed on time.

* Enhance students' skills relevant to the trade industry during lessons.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in a trade or construction environment is essential.

* Experience in an educational setting is a plus but not mandatory.

* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving situations.
