Contracts Manager - Research Team, Intellectual Property, Performance, Publication - London - (Inside IR35)

My client has an urgent requirement for a Contracts manager to represent the client in contractual negotiations for research and related activities and to provide advice on contractual obligations, responsibilities, and risks. ​The key aspects are the role are:

Duties and Responsibilities: ​

Review, draft, and negotiate various research agreements. ​
Advise on rights, obligations, and risks under agreements. ​
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation. ​
Achieve commercially acceptable positions on key issues like liability and intellectual property. ​
Collaborate to protect intellectual property and exploitation opportunities. ​
Support continuous improvement of processes and best practices. ​
Use Worktribe to track contract requests. ​
Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies. ​
Provide training and presentations to departments. ​
Be flexible and collaborative, supporting the team and other staff. ​
Discuss contract portfolios with departments and academics. ​
Support other faculty areas as needed based on demand and workload changes. ​To be the successful in your application you will have a Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant field eg Law. Have knowledge of key contract topics including intellectual property, performance, publication, confidentiality, warranties, liability and indemnity, data protection/privacy, governing law and jurisdiction. You will also need experience of reviewing, drafting and negotiating research contracts and/or legal agreements and experience of identifying and providing commercial advice on potential risks for a variety of activities including competing contractual obligations.
