The Opportunity - Process Design Engineer:
As a Process Design Engineer, you will be an essential part of the Engineering Design Team. You will work closely with Design Managers and Leads to create high-quality designs that comply with Health & Safety regulations. This role involves direct engagement in projects, requiring expertise in design delivery within the water and wastewater sectors. You may also have the chance to mentor and guide graduate or assistant engineers.

In this position, you will ensure that all design activities meet engineering governance requirements, facilitating smooth integration with other disciplines and providing vital technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Your role will also include supporting procurement activities and site operations as needed.

Key Accountabilities - Process Design Engineer:

Ensure technical compliance and quality in all design outputs.
Collaborate with project teams to find optimal solutions that balance costs.
Uphold procedural governance throughout the design process.
Work within the Design team to meet client specifications and industry standards.
Maintain compliance with relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
Engage in technical problem-solving from concept design to construction support, identifying and managing potential issues.
Assist with pre-contract design activities as required.
Pursue accreditation with professional engineering bodies (e.g., IChemE). Competency Requirements - Process Design Engineer:

Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and the supply chain.
Proficient in conducting Process Calculations, Mass Balances, and Hydraulic Calculations.
Experienced in preparing Process Block Diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs.
Skilled in developing Process Control Philosophies and Process Commissioning Plans. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Process Design Engineer:

Educated to degree level in Engineering or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Water and Wastewater industries.
Chartered or a member of a professional engineering body is preferred but not essential.
