Job Opportunity: HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic Mental Health - Women's Service)

We are excited to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist to join a well-respected independent sector hospital in the York area. This hospital offers a medium-secure environment and works exclusively with NHS patients, providing high-quality care in partnership with the Humber and North Yorkshire Provider Collaborative.

This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team within a 12-bedded medium-secure female service, providing leadership, consultancy, assessment, and interventions. The successful candidate will have experience working with women, ideally in a forensic mental health setting, and will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and provide specialist psychological support to women with trauma and mental health difficulties.

* Provide assessments, interventions, and consultancy within the women’s service.

* Contribute to the implementation of Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), with opportunities for specialist training.

* Collaborate with colleagues within the provider collaborative to enhance the women’s service.

* Participate in the delivery of psychological therapies, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, and other trauma-informed approaches.

* Engage in service development, research, and clinical supervision activities.

* Contribute to the trauma-informed care approach in the hospital.

Key Requirements:

* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

* Experience of working with women in a forensic mental health setting (preferred).

* Specialist training in trauma-focused therapeutic models (e.g., CBT for trauma/EMDR).

* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

* Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

The role will involve working with a diverse patient population, including individuals with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, mental illness, and personality disorders. The hospital offers a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy, and strives to create a supportive, therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
