Principal Fire Engineer - London
Salary: £55,000 - £69,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal Fire Engineer or an ambitious Senior to join a dynamic Fire Engineering team in their Northampton office. This is an exciting chance to contribute to a growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a proven reputation for excellence.

This consultancy's Fire Engineering Division is one of the UK’s largest, known for its quality of service and responsiveness. With offices nationwide and part of a global company, the team has expanded rapidly and now works on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across multiple sectors, including Residential, Commercial, Nuclear, Education, Aviation, Healthcare, High-Hazard, and Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage fire engineering projects and a team of up to 10 people.

* Deliver technically excellent fire engineering design across a range of projects.

* Provide early-stage strategic input and work through to detailed design and post-occupancy evaluations.

* Lead site inspections and provide detailed reports during construction.

* Support the Director of Fire Engineering in the implementation of the business plan and the development of new opportunities.

What We Are Looking For:

* A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng or equivalent).

* Previous experience working in fire engineering consultancy, providing fire strategy and safety services.

* A genuine passion for fire engineering and a proactive, self-starting attitude.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-driven environment.

* Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to motivate and manage a team.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Projects and Sectors:
The Fire Engineering team works across various sectors, offering services such as:

* Fire engineering design and analysis

* Fire strategy development and code compliance advisement

* Means of escape design

* Evacuation analysis and pedestrian flow modelling

* Smoke control design and Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Analysis

* Structural fire protection and fire impact analysis

* Post-occupation services like fire management plans and fire risk assessments

Location:
This role is based in the Northampton office, but applications from surrounding areas are welcomed.
