H9 Technical are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a market leading waste management, energy and resource company on a permanent, full-time basis.

This will be a predominantly site-based role, located on an Energy from Waste plant in Allington, Kent.

Role Description:

Responsible for the Project Management of equipment/process upgrades to involve development of the overall project brief, design stage risk assessment, involvement of key stakeholders, capital justification/application, tender specification, installation, commissioning, defect rectification and documentation implementation within the document control system and the Maintenance Management System.
Drive the strategic development of the maintenance philosophy at Allington by implementing new maintenance techniques and procedures directed at increasing the overall plant availability in line with budget expectations.
Play a key role in the planning and execution of plant outages, taking responsibility for key areas to ensure all work is completed in a safe, timely and effective manner. Work with Procurement to establish long term agreements with suitable suppliers and contractors and develop existing scopes of work as appropriate.
Work with the Maintenance Team Leaders to develop the site Maintenance Management System as well as improve the skills and knowledge of the Technicians.
Be a key member of the maintenance department to ensure the effective operation of the plant. This may involve direct supervision/liaison with the maintenance team and contractors.
To deputise for the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Team Leaders when required.

Experience and Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years' experience within the Energy from Waste, Power or similar heavy industries.
Project Management experience, with working knowledge of Microsoft Project
Experience with preventative/predictive maintenance techniques
Previous experience of statutory inspections of steam pressure systems and associated equipment and all forms of NDT.
Good knowledge and understanding of steam turbine and generator equipment.
Previous Maintenance Management System experience.
Experience of root cause analysis and similar fault-finding analysis techniques
Understanding and experience of CDM
Good understanding of relevant legislative requirements
Satisfactory completion of the relevant Competency Management System modules.
Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix.
Ideally Degree qualified but extensive relevant proven experience will be taken into consideration.
Hold an IOSH/NEBOSH safety accreditation
