Ivy Resource Group are currently looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to join one our clients on a permanent basis in North and North West London.

The company:

Our client is family owned construction company that has been in business for over 50 years with annual revenues in excess of £150m. They work across various sectors including: Major refurbishment, social housing, schools, new housing and developments, planned and reactive maintenance.

The role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our client's projects. You will be responsible for managing all costs from initial calculations to the final account. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in diverse and challenging projects with a dynamic team in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and evaluate bills of quantities, tenders, and contract documents.

Track and manage project budgets, valuations, and variations.

CVRs

Conduct site visits and work closely with project teams to monitor progress and costs.

Assess and negotiate sub-contractor and supplier contracts.

Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal regulations.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to resolve commercial issues.

Prepare and submit final accounts and project reports.

Assist with risk management and cost control initiatives.

Essential requirements:

Relevant qualification (Degree/HND) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

Have worked for a similar contractor, 3 years' experience as a minimum.

Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools).

Worked on projects like: refurbishments, social housing, local authorities, blocks of flats, schools etc.

What are we looking for?

An experienced Quantity Surveyor

Strong IT Skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proactive with the ability to work and manage time effectively

Relevant industry qualifications

Ideally a degree in quantity surveying but not essential if you have the right experience.
