Job Advert: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Bournemouth)

Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Start Date: January 2025
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in a dynamic school environment. You will work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, providing both group and 1-1 support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with Special Educational Needs in small group settings and on a 1-1 basis.
Assist in implementing individual learning plans and specific strategies for students.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Help manage and support students' behaviour, promoting their emotional well-being.
Assist in delivering tailored educational activities and ensure students are fully engaged.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the needs of each student are met.
Contribute to the progress and development of students through regular assessments and feedback.

Key Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a teaching assistant or related role.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
A passion for helping children achieve their best and overcome challenges.
A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
