Autism Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £1805 – £2166 per month
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in education? A unique and inclusive educational setting in York is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with autism.

About the Role:

Provide tailored support to students with autism, empowering them to succeed socially, emotionally and academically.
Offer 1:1 and small group support, adapting your approach to individual learning needs.
Assist in managing behaviour and implementing strategies that promote positive development.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
Help students develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience working with autism or special educational needs is preferred but not essential.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
A proactive and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Hands on experience or in-depth knowledge on autism and how to adapt learning materials to meet the needs of young people with additional needs.
You must have the legal Right to Work in the UK and be able to provide relevant references from within the last 2 years.
