PE teacher (QTS)

Prospero Teaching are looking for a PE Teacher for a Secondary school based in St Helens.
The role will be full time on a temporary basis, however successful candidates will be considered for a permanent position.
You will be expected to teach classes across both key stage 3 & 4. It would be advantageous if you have previously ran a sports team, such as football, cricket or rugby in a UK secondary school.

The school has a small, yet very supportive & welcoming PE department. The school is going from strength to strength and providing CPD throughout the year.

The position is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers, all applicants will be expected to hold qualified teacher status (QTS).

CONTRACT DETAILS

Location - St Helens

Position - PE Teacher

Start date - January 2025/ASAP

Full time

Minimum rate of pay - £162 per day, PAID TO SCALE UP TO £223.

Hours 8:30 - 16:00, plus parents evenings and departmental meetings if and when required

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, QTLS or equivalent

Minimum 1 year PE teaching experience in the UK

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided)

Up to date Prevent Awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child related references
