Are you a proactive, self-motivated finance professional with a background in SME environments? Do you thrive in working independently and have the skills to manage a variety of tasks? A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Finance Manager to join our client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Working Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week. 

You will be working for a not-for-profit organisation that provides improvement services to their specialist sector.  Benefits include up to a 5% discretionary company and individual performance-related bonus, 35 days holiday including Bank Holidays, pension and free car parking.  Due to the office location, you must have a full UK driving licence as there are limited transport links. 

Salary will be up to £32,000 per annum (Full-time equivalent salary is £38,927)/Hourly pay rate is up to £20.51 per hour. 

As the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Managing all financial operations, including sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliation, VAT returns, and financial reporting

Ensuring compliance with financial governance requirements

Providing financial analysis, managing audits, and supporting year-end financial reporting

Preparing and presenting financial statements, including profit & loss, budgets, and cash flows

Managing the year-end prepayments and accruals

Overseeing company bank accounts and managing transfers

Handling financial queries from colleagues, members, and external auditors

Chasing outstanding monies owed

Developing and managing financial systems

Maintaining and managing employee records

Advising on the financial implications of business decisions and forecasting future spending and ways to reduce costs

Working closely with management to provide insightful financial data and performance analysis

As the Finance Manager, you will have:

Solid experience working within an SME, with a hands-on approach to all aspects of financial management

Proficiency in Sage 50 or any additional accounts software

Experience working on CRM systems, updating records when required

Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

A collaborative attitude, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to support the wider team

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, SharePoint and Outlook

A full driving licence is required due to the location of the office and occasional requirement to attend meetings

We are keen to speak to anyone who has previously worked as a Finance Manager, Accountant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Controller, Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper. We are also interested in speaking to people with experience of using SAGE, Synergist Xero, or QuickBooks or people who have the following qualifications: AAT or ACCA
