Job Title: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Ideal for Sports Coaches/Support Workers)
Location: St Helens
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Start Date: January 2025
Contract Type: Long-term Temporary
Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm

About the Role:

Are you a passionate sports coach, support worker, or mentor looking to transition into education? Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil in a supportive and inclusive school in Crosby, Liverpool. This role focuses on providing individual assistance to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who requires extra support to navigate their school day.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your transferable skills in communication, motivation, and teamwork to make a meaningful impact in a childs life.

If you have experience as a sports coach, care/support worker, or in mentoring roles, your ability to build trust, provide motivation, and encourage teamwork will be invaluable. In this 1:1 setting, you will:

Foster a structured and positive learning environment tailored to the pupils individual needs.
Support the childs academic, social, and emotional development, helping them overcome challenges.
Use creative and engaging approaches to build rapport, including incorporating recreational and movement-based activities.
Help the student build confidence and achieve personal and educational goals.

What Youll Bring:

Experience working with children in a coaching, mentoring, or educational role.
Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting students with SEN.
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and build relationships with young people.
A passion for helping children succeed in both academic and social settings.

Eligibility Requirements:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Have an Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or be willing to process a new application).
Provide two professional references covering the last 2 years.
