Description

The primary responsibility is to fabricate components from aluminum sheets, steel sheets, tubing, and extrusion materials for the aerospace seating aftermarket business. This involves working from diagrams and engineering drawings to produce components using a range of hand tools and shop floor machinery while ensuring quality standards are consistently maintained.

The equipment and tools commonly used in this role include Trumpf machines, brake presses, cut-off saws, guillotines, hydraulic presses, fly presses, bandsaws, spot-welding machines, manual mill/drill combos, and pillar drills. During inspections, measuring instruments such as height gauges, protractors, radius gauges, verniers, and micrometers are utilized.

1. Health and Safety

Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company health and safety policies.
Demonstrate a strong duty of care for personal safety and the well-being of colleagues.
Exhibit a solid understanding of safe working practices.2. Quality Assurance

Take accountability for the quality of produced work.
Report any defects or issues to the supervisor promptly.
Verify all necessary information is available to complete tasks accurately.
Manufacture components in line with specified requirements.
Inspect components using appropriate tools and maintain traceability for all parts.3. Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with cell leaders and production engineers to create standard work instructions that reflect best practices.
Report any rework requirements immediately to cell leaders to eliminate non-value-added activities.
Perform assigned tasks and support improvement projects under general supervision
