About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our Estimating Department. Based near Hornchurch, this role offers a flexible work environment, with opportunities to work from home and occasional site visits.

Role Overview:
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful delivery of construction projects. Your expertise will play a crucial role in project planning, budgeting, and bidding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

* Consult with clients, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements.

* Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

* Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials, labour, and time.

* Prepare and submit tenders and proposals within specified deadlines.

* Collaborate with the project team to ensure estimates align with project goals.

* Monitor project costs and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within [residential/commercial/industrial] construction.

* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry practices.

* Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Cost, etc.).

* Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

* Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

* Effective communication and negotiation skills.

* Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
