SEMH Teacher

Location: Birkenhead

Start Date: January 2025

Salary: from £170 per day

Are you a dedicated and compassionate educator with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join our team and provide valuable support and guidance to students who require additional assistance to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

Create and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the specific needs of students with SEMH.
Provide individualised support and accommodations for students with a wide range of disabilities and learning difficulties.
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes the social and academic development of all students.
Collaborate with special education professionals, parents, and support staff to develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as necessary.
Utilise assistive technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience for students with SEND.
Maintain detailed records of student performance and development.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching certification.
This role is suitable for ECTs requiring induction completion.
Specialisation or additional training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
Experience working with students with SEND, including autism, MLD, SLD, and other complex disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the unique needs of students with SEND.
A clear background check and relevant safeguarding certifications may be required.Benefits:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
