About the Project

The St Austell Link Road project is a significant infrastructure development aimed at improving connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and supporting economic growth in the region. This high-profile project involves road construction, drainage, earthworks, and highway structures.

We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with a strong background in highways to join our team on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing site operations, ensuring effective coordination, and driving the successful delivery of this landmark project.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management:

Manage daily site operations, ensuring alignment with project schedules and specifications.
Lead and oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
Planning and Coordination:

Develop and implement short-term programs to support project milestones.
Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and design teams to address technical challenges and optimize workflows.
Quality Control:

Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and project requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high levels of quality and compliance.
Health & Safety:

Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct site inductions, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to reinforce safe working practices.
Technical Problem Solving:

Provide technical support to resolve issues arising during construction.
Act as the key liaison between the project manager and site teams to address technical queries and challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and external stakeholders to provide progress updates and resolve issues.
Represent the project in site meetings and briefings.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience:

Significant experience in highways or infrastructure projects, with proven ability to lead and manage site operations.
Knowledge of highways construction processes, including earthworks, drainage, and structures.
Skills:

Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:

CSCS card (essential).
SMSTS (essential).
First Aid at Work (desirable)
