School Caretaker / Groundsman

£12.83 an hour

Do you possess the hands-on skills to maintain a school setting? 

Do you take pride in your work and can contribute to the smooth running of a school? 

Can you be proactive and use your initiative to solve situations? 

Main Responsibilities:

Ensure maintenance tasks and minor repairs are completed within the building such as painting, shelving, door handles, leaks, lighting etc
Opening and closing the buildings daily
Make sure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
Ensure wash areas and toilet areas are regularly replenished and kept up to standards
Check all fire safety signage and equipment are legally compliant and recorded
Upkeep of gardens and school grounds

TeacherActive are seeking Caretakers in the area of Nelson and Abercynon to work in the schools of the local community. You will have the opportunity to either work split shift hours or a full day (8am-5pm) depending on how flexible you wish to be. The job role is temporary but could lead to a permanent position for the right Caretaker / Groundsman!

The successful Caretaker / Groundsman will have:

Experience as a caretaker or a hands-on background e.g factory or labour work 
A can do, proactive attitude towards your work
Reliability
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to use your initiative
Knowledge of public safety and security
