About this position:
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer on a contract basis with a global engineering solutions company who have a proven track record serving the product lifecycle needs of high technology companies.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of major platform Capability to the Typhoon Core Nations and our Export Customers. Your work within the system team will directly influence the release of these capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will closely collaborate with the TR&A, Safety, and Clearance teams to release new capability in line with programme demands. You will work with a level of autonomy, assisting the Team Leader with discharging more of the duty set across the team. Coordinating reviews and meetings with SI and Flight Test/Ops is a fundamental requirement, as is the preparation and issue of various team documentation, including ASR & ASD.
* Issue SPR memos
* Capture software issues (and advice)
* Manage, allocate, and action SPRs within the PCMS toolset
* Attend SPR management forums such as the SPR CCB to discuss and agree on the prioritization of SPR rectification
* Conduct and co-ordinate reviews with internal and external stakeholders and provide feedback to the wider team
* Act as a focal point for query answering for both local teams and urgent Customer issues
Experience Required:
* A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
* Strong Systems Engineering background from either Aerospace or Defence sectors
* Knowledge of the Typhoon platform
* Proven experience of Requirements management
* Experience of working with rig and flight-testing teams
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proven experience of stakeholder management
* Proven ability to write formal project documentation
