Dual-Registered Children’s Home Manager
Hornchurch, Greater London
£55,000 plus bonus
TRC has joined forces with a small, family-run service that provides high-quality accommodation, care and support to our children and young people in their communities. The owner has a background in social work and is looking for an experienced registered manager to strengthen the leadership team and become registered with Ofsted.
Reporting to The RI and company directors, the Registered Manager will oversee supervision and communications with Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and all residential staff, in addition to external stakeholders.
The two solo homes are located in Hornchurch and Dagenham.
Main Purpose:
To manage the day-to-day running of the children’s homes and ensure that it meets the expectations and standards as set out in its Statement of Purpose.
To ensure that the home is consistently meeting standards set by the company and set out in legislation (the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 for example), and to ensure that the home is continuously operating within the Ofsted Registration criteria.
To confidently lead the home though any external and internal inspection and audits / inspections.
To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and ensure that the home remains fully compliant with all legislation, in particular, that set out in the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, including the Quality Standards.
To establish and maintain a competent, motivated, and confident staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance, and support to staff at all levels.
To ensure that the companies’ policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively.
To develop systems for the efficient administration of the home and to ensure that the fabric of the home, equipment, appliances, and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. To liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health, and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for children.
To actively promote the home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies.
Criteria:
Must have a minimum of 2 years working as a manager within an Ofsted regulated service.
Must have a full UK driving license.
Clean DBS.
Have a can-do attitude and be happy to roll their sleeves up when needed.
